Here are some of the best cocktails that are served in the bars during this time.

Granada Real Cocktail

The pomegranate kernels dance festively among the bubbles of this Christmas cocktail.


7 grains of pomegranate

30 ml pomegranate liqueur

120 ml of Champagne, cava or any dry sparkling wine.


Add pomegranate seeds to a glass of champagne flute. You can touch it with the glass froster beforehand to make it more glamorous.

Add the liqueur, then pour in the sparkling wine and you're done!


Cranberry Orange Mimosa

This bubbly drink is ideal for Christmas mornings or Christmas brunches.


125 ml freshly squeezed orange juice, plus orange serving pieces (approximately 2 oranges in total)

125ml fresh cranberry juice

750 ml of sparkling wine

Fresh Cranberries, to serve


Combine orange and cranberry juices and refrigerate for up to 2 days.

To serve, divide between glasses, then cover with sparkling wine.  Serve with orange and blueberry wedges for a more Christmasy touch.


Pomegranate Punch and Rum

This fruity punch includes rum and sparkling wine and cinnamon that make it a spicy and refreshing cocktail.


4 bags of hibiscus tea

1 small cinnamon stick, crushed

250 ml pomegranate juice

250 ml Rum with spices

125 ml blood orange juice

750 ml of sparkling wine

Pomegranate grains and blood orange slices, to serve


Place the tea bags and cinnamon stick in a large measuring cup. Cover with 1 cup boiling water; let stand 5 minutes. Strain and cool to room temperature.

Combine tea, pomegranate juice, rum and orange juice in a pitcher. Slowly pour in sparkling wine. Serve with ice, orange slices and pomegranate kernels.
